I haven’t updated on here for so long! The last month seems to have gone so fast. Things have changed a lot for me since the degree show! It was my birthday, then I got my results back, and then I graduated…so its been a busy month. I’ve not really been up to a lot on the graphic design front, partly because I’ve been job searching instead, and partly because after the few months before all my deadlines and the degree show, I didn’t want to open InDesign for the longest time possible…it was nice to have a break!
However, this weeks been pretty busy on the work front for me. I spent weeks and weeks applying for jobs and internships, not hearing anything back, until I heard back from two amazing things in the same week. Firstly, I went to work in the Jamie Oliver offices for two days, setting up templates and things for the new Recipease store opening in Notting Hill (http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipease/). It was really interesting to see and be a part of what’s going on, and considering I’m a massive Jamie Oliver fan I felt really lucky to be there. I was going to go perhaps start an internship with them, but, in the same week the most amazing thing happened. I went for an interview for my dream job, and I now start a job as a graphic designer at The Science Museum on Wednesday! I’m beyond excited. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!
So, I’m gonna try and get on top of posting on here, and update more often with the bits and pieces I’ve been doing, but I think I’m also gonna start using this as a graphic design appreciation blog so that theres more regular stuff as well.
You can now check out my actual good photos of my work that are up on there. Gonna add more over the next few days.
Echo Magazine
This was my Final Major Project. It’s a London based music magazine, which I proposed would be given out for free at gigs/shows as an alternative to the crappy leaflets you get shoved in your hands in the queues. It includes punk, rock, pop-punk, hardcore and metal.
Repetition Book.
A book I made to go alongside my photography project, where I photographed hundreds of tiny things in regimented repeated patterns, to try and show how something interesting (the photograph) could come from a boring process (the arranging).
My Portfolio.
(The crappy quality is because these were taken on my iPhone cos my camera is not working)
Right, I have decided that even though I don’t have a working camera right now, its been too long since I posted any new work up here, so I’ve taken photos on my iPhone, hence the shitty quality thats about to follow…
(I will retake them when I can get my camera working)
My illustrations in Katie and Jess’s magazine!
Its an awesome magazine. Check it out:

Crumbs being displayed at my third year degree show at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane tonight. My cupcake boxes went down a storm, and hopefully the people that got them enjoyed the tasty cakes!
Finalising stuff for the degree show tonight…its happening this weekend and theres still so much to do! Everything has to be put up and ready tomorrow, and then the industry private viewing is on Friday evening.
I haven’t been posting my work recently on here, and I’ve put nothing of my fmp up, but hopefully once I’ve put all my work up tomorrow I can sit down and actually update this blog! I have actually got a lot to post. Also tomorrow I can post photos of my space in the Truman Brewery etc.
I want to continue developing my cupcake magazine, not only for the degree show next week, but also over the summer to keep me busy. Sooo, to carry on with it, I want to get some original material to put in it, and not just keep putting recipes in. If anyone who follows me is an avid baker or…
very very nearly finished my magazine. I’m printing it tomorrow! Slightly nervous as I feel like it can’t be the end yet, but I’m sure once I see it put all together I’ll be happy. I’ll post some spreads on here as well once its completely finished.
